Tandoori Chicken is a classic Indian dish that features chicken marinated in a flavorful yoghurt and spice mixture, then roasted to perfection. Follow this simple recipe to prepare a delicious and aromatic Tandoori Chicken that will be a hit at any meal.
Ingredients
- 1000 to 1200 grams chicken (cut into 4 to 8 pieces)
- 200 grams yoghurt
- Half cup oil
- 50 grams Bharat Tandoori Chicken Masala
- Bharat Chaat Masala / Bharat Peri Peri Masala (for sprinkling)
- Onion rings and lemon wedges (for garnish)
Method-
- Prepare the Chicken: Clean the chicken with water two to three times and make incisions on the skin to help the marinade penetrate deeply.
- Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, whisk together 200 grams of yoghurt and two teaspoons of oil until smooth. Add 50 grams of Bharat Tandoori Chicken Masala to the yoghurt mixture and mix well. Rub this marinade onto the chicken pieces, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 3 hours to absorb the flavors.
- Skewer and Roast: Once the chicken has marinated, skewer the pieces and roast them in a moderately hot tandoor or a preheated oven at 170°C for 8 to 10 minutes. When the chicken is semi-cooked, baste it with oil or butter to keep it moist and enhance the flavor. Continue roasting for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the chicken from the skewers, sprinkle with Bharat Chaat Masala or Bharat Peri Peri Masala, and serve hot. Garnish the Tandoori Chicken with onion rings and lemon wedges for a refreshing touch.
