Pasta Recipe Using Bharat Pasta Masala

Ingredients:

  • Ingredients:
    • 300g pasta (penne, fusilli, or your choice)
    • 300g ripe tomatoes
    • 50g Bharat Pasta Masala
    • 2 tbsp cooking oil
    • Grated cheese for garnish
    • Salt to taste
    • Optional for non-Jains: 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
    • Optional vegetables: bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini (or your choice of vegetables)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Pasta:
    Begin by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and cook pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, rinse it with cold water to stop the cooking process, and set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Tomato Purée:
    Wash and blanch ripe tomatoes. To blanch, score the tops of the tomatoes with an “X,” place them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, and transfer them to cold water. Peel the skins, chop the tomatoes, and blend them into a smooth purée.
  3. Sauté the Tomato Purée:
    Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. For non-Jains, start by sautéing garlic and onion until golden brown.
  4. Add Vegetables (Optional):
    If you’re adding vegetables, toss in your choice, such as chopped bell peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, or zucchini, after the onions turn pink. Sauté the vegetables for 3-4 minutes, allowing them to partially cook and absorb the flavors.
  5. Add Tomato Purée and Masala:
    Once the vegetables are partially cooked, add the prepared tomato purée to the pan. Stir in 50g of Bharat Pasta Masala and mix well. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Add salt to taste, keeping in mind that the masala already contains some seasoning.
  6. Combine with Pasta:
    Add the boiled pasta to the prepared sauce. Gently toss everything together, ensuring that the pasta is evenly coated with the flavorful sauce and vegetables.
  7. Serve Hot:
    Transfer the pasta to serving plates and garnish with grated cheese. You can also sprinkle freshly chopped basil or oregano for added flavor.
